Enea Operator has completed a comprehensive modernisation of the Jachcice transformer/switching station (GPZ). The modernisation, in addition to  the reconstruction of the station itself, also covered the construction of new medium voltage line terminals and linking them to the existing power grid. The investment, worth almost PLN 15 mln, will significantly improve the energy security, mainly in the north-western part of Bydgoszcz.

During the comprehensive modernisation of the station, new switchboards were built: high voltage (110 kV), medium voltage (30 kV and 15 kV) as well as power transformer positions and auxiliary distribution boards. New terminals in the form of medium voltage lines will supply almost 20,000 Recipients living in the north-western districts of Bydgoszcz, such as Piaski, Jachcice, Opławiec and Czyżkówko. The investment will also allow for a direct connection of strategic industrial and public Customers, such as PESA Bydgoszcz and the Bydgoszcz Główna railway station, to the new switchboard.

- Bydgoszcz is one of the most important and dynamically developing urban centres in  the area of Enea Operator's operations, which is why we respond adequately to the needs of residents and local business. The modernised Jachcice transformer/switching station will significantly increase the reliability of the city's power supply and improve the system of medium voltage grids - said Andrzej Kojro, president of Enea Operator on the opening of the transformer/switching station.

The main goal of the comprehensive modernisation of the transformer/switching station was to increase the reliability of the station and the medium voltage grid operation system, among others by adapting them to the technical standards applied in Enea Operator. Thanks to  the investment, power supply reliability for Customers from the north-western part of Bydgoszcz increased significantly. Elektrobudowa Katowice was the contractor for  the investment worth nearly PLN 15 mln.
